Laboratory for Prevention/Epidemiology + Analytic Novelty, Uptake & Translation

The PEANUTs Lab is directed by Dr. Charlie Rioux. The main mission of the lab is to contribute to improved mental health across the lifespan, from pregnancy to adulthood and across generations.

The PEANUTs lab uses methods based in developmental science, prevention science and mental health promotion, looking at what predicts mental health and substance use as well as what factors we can target to promote wellness in pregnancy, childhood, adolescence, and beyond. The lab also aims to contribute to improved developmental research methods and science communication, which in turn contributes to its main mission.

We strongly value interdisciplinary and collaborative research and believe this is is essential in reaching our mission. The PEANUTs lab also highly values the training and empowerment of future generations and is committed to involving undergraduate and graduate students in the entire research process.
